He moved to Johnson County in 1961, enlisted in the Confederate Army the same year, in which he served gallantly until 1865.
He was married to Miss Mary E. Phillips, in 1866, in Johnson County, Texas. To this union were born ten children five boys and five girls, one girl and one boy have passed on to their eternal home.
Brother Eastham was converted and joined the Baptist Church in Johnson County when he was a young man. He moved to Callahan County March 11, 1878 and made this his home until his death.
Mrs. Eastham was born in Tennessee, November 20, 1843. Her parents moved to Burleson County, Texas in 1846 and to Johnson County in 1861.
Mrs. Eastham was converted and joined the Baptist Church in 1884. She was called away from us by death, March 21, 1924, aged 80 years, 4 months and 4 days.
In the death of Brother and Sister Eastham the Admiral Baptist Church has lost two of its most faithful members who were always ready to help in the work of the church, and from the cause of their blessed Saviour.
The children lost a loving father and mother, their neighbors two good, true friends, who was always ready to help the distressed in time of sickness, sorrow, or any other worth cause or call, and their community two most estimable citizens.
Therefore, we bow in humble submission to the will of our blessed Lord knowing that they are now with their blessed Saviour in the home prepared for them by Him, who said:
"I go to prepare a place for you," and we can only commend this Saviour whom they loved so well, to their children, relatives, and friends and ask them to lean on Him who said he would never forsake them: "And Lo! I will be with you until the end."

Dearest Parents, thou has left us,
And our loss we deeply feel.
But the God that has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.
Yet, again we hope to meet them,
When the day of life has fled.
When in Heaven in joy we greet them,
When no farewell tear is shed.
Their children.
