Why would Jack put S B Hadley (married name) in his notebook, when he obviously knew her maiden name of Peebles?

Sallie married Thomas Boggess Hadley, son of Denny Porterfield Hadley and Mary (Polly) Boggess, on 29 Mar 1865 in Johnson, Texas, USA.³ (Thomas Boggess Hadley was born on 28 Nov 1846 in Johnson, Texas, USA ³ and died in Nov 1907 in Baird, Callahan, Texas, USA.)
